A Fundamental Study to establish Japanese Writing Centers for international students

本研究的目的是探讨现有写作中心面临的管理挑战，并确定日本国内外写作中心为日语为第二语言的大学生建立日语写作中心所使用的辅导策略。对导师和学生进行了半结构化访谈，并在写作中心进行了观察，以了解国际学生在用第二语言创建和修改文件时面临的问题。本研究建议日本大学建立写作中心及发展因应国际学生需求的教学方法是至关重要的。

The purpose of this study was to explore administrative challenges confronted by existing writing centers and to identify tutorial strategies used by writing centers inside and outside Japan to establish Japanese Writing Centers for university students for whom Japanese is a second language. Semi-structured interviews with the tutors and students, and observation in writing centers sessions were conducted to obtain an idea of what international students face as they create and revise their documents in second language. Implications from this study propose that it is crucial for the Japanese universities to establish writing centers and to develop pedagogy to respond the needs of international students.
