The Possibility of a Cultural Sociology: Around Sorokin

本文试图从知识社会学的视角，结合俄国科米文化、俄国革命、索罗金与帕森斯、默顿在哈佛的暧昧关系，分析索罗金文化社会学思想的形成过程，以及他在美国社会学界的独特地位。并将索罗金的文化社会学思想与帕森斯、涂尔干的文化社会学思想进行比较，以考察其理论意义。由此指出，索罗金提出了一种强调“文化自主”和“文化变迁的不可避免性”的“文化社会学”，并赋予其社会学的预见性。

This research attempted to analyse the formation process of Sorokin’s cultural sociology in relation to the Komi culture in Russia, Russian Revolution, his ambiguous relations with Parsons and Merton in Harvard, and his unique position in the American Sociological world from sociology of knowledge perspective. And it examined his theoretical significance by comparing Sorokin’s idea with cultural sociological ideas of Parsons and Durkheim. As a result it was pointed out that Sorokin presented a “Cultural Sociology” emphasizing “cultural autonomy” and “immanent cultural change,” and gave it a prophetic sociology aspect.
