Magnetoencephalography (MEG) is a tool used to assess brain activity. It works by measuring the magnetic fields present within the human brain, these fields are causally altered by electrical currents in the brain. These currents originate from flow within the neurons, the core cell present within the brain. There are at present a large user base of researchers and clinicians that utilize MEG to assess theories of action perception, to the diagnosis of concussion. One stumbling block for users are the complex analysis steps that are required. In this collaboration between MISL (an MEG manufacturer) and Simon Fraser University, we aim to remove these difficulties. Using expertise uniquely positioned as being both the user and the manufacturer we aim to help ease the process of analysis by building a new toolbox that users can use during MEG data collection. Focusing on user design and innovative analytical approaches to streamline the MEG user interface and experience.
