Medium Fidelity Canine CPR Simulator using Multiple Sensors

Saskatchewan Polytechnic (SP) will collaborate with Veterinary Simulator Industries (VSI) to continue development of a mid-fidelity interactive veterinary canine simulator as a prototype platform from which to build a high-fidelity simulator. The Canine simulator provides a low-risk environment for students to engage in safe, patient-centered care as well as test their critical thinking; clinical decision-making; and leadership skills. For CPR training, simulator will provide accurate measurement of compression pressure and position along with breath volume. The measurement provides data for students and instructional staff to evaluate progress. Student data is compared to prerecorded professional data, enabling real-time feedback and correction as well as supporting independent study.
