CH Four Biogas Inc. specializes in the design, installation and optimization of anaerobic digestion systems forthe agricultural, industrial and municipal sectors throughout North and South America. They are an industry leader in the field of anaerobic digestion and their unique expertise allows them to successfully optimize biogassystems and continually strive for innovation and optimization of biogas technologies.CH Four is currently developing an Anaerobic Digester Facility in Dundalk, Ontario in partnership with Petawawa. This facility will accept up to 73,000 tonnes of organic residues per year for use in the digester. CH Four plans to process the rejected plastic waste to send to a recycling facility in an effort to drastically reduce the amount of waste being sent to landfills. However, the rejected plastics are too dirty to be recycled without being cleaned. To that end, CH Four is collaborating with Lambton College to find a cost effective cleaning/recycling solution for the plastic waste from their anaerobic digester. The success of this project has the potential to resolve several challenges surrounding the recycling of reject plastic not only in our industry but in other sectors facing the same issue. This technology will provide the opportunity for plastic waste, otherwise sent to landfill, to be processed for recycling to create reusable products and reduce greenhouse gas emissions. The technology has the potential to benefit Canada's environment and economy and provides the opportunity to invest in the future of the Canadian recycling sector.
