Sunrise Foods (Sunrise), based in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia, is a snack food companycurrently producing cracker and cheese spread and breadstick and cheese spread snacks that are sold acrossCanada that are ideal for K-12 school lunches. Sunrise recognized early in their company's history, the need togrow their product line and diversify according to new markets. Sunrise has been working on the developmentof hazelnut spreads for several years but lack the internal capacity to solve technical challenges associated withfood product development and scale up. Sunrise has approached Holland College and Canada's SmartestKitchen (CSK), the food product R&D arm of the Culinary Institute of Canada to collaborate on thedevelopment of new, innovative nut and seed spreads that will meet the growing demand of allergen freeconsumers.
