本研究は，three students のような例に代表される，数詞と名詞とが結合する英語の構造に焦点を当てる。この例が示すように，複数を表す数詞が複数形の名詞と結合すると，複数形の名詞句となることは当然の事実であるように思われる。しかし a good two months という構造は、これとは異なる振る舞いを見せる。この例では two という数詞が months という複数形名詞を修飾し，複数形名詞句を形成していることは上例と同じである。しかし，この構造には不定冠詞の a が生起しているという点で特殊である。以上の事実から以下のような問いが生じる。(I) 数詞と名詞の間の形態・統語的関係はどのように規定されるべきか。(II) この構造において必須要素である形容詞はどのような働きをしているか。(III) このような特殊な構造を，英語の名詞句の統語論において理論的にどのように位置づけるか。(IV) この構造における不定冠詞の生起をどのように動機づけるか。本研究は、以上の４つの観点からHead-driven Phrase Structure Grammar (HPSG) の枠組みで分析を行う。特に2022年度においては，上記４点のうち(IV) に特に焦点を当てた。

The present study focuses on the construction of English by combining three students 'examples, numerals and nouns. This example shows that the plural is a numeral, the plural is a noun, and the plural is a noun. For a good two months, the structure is different, and the vibration is different.
