本研究は、「高学歴主婦(高学歴を持ち主婦業を営んでいる女性)」に焦点を当て、学歴の機能の新たな側面について考察することを目的としたものである。本年度においては次の作業を行った。(1)ジェンダー、学歴、職業達成に関する先行研究の知見をまとめ、現代日本社会における学歴達成とジェンダーについての考察を行った。(2)高学歴主婦を多く産出していると思われる女子大学1校が過去に行った卒業生質問紙調査データの再分析を行った。(3)上記の大学が行った、卒業生へのインタビュー調査データの分析を行った。分析の結果、以下の知見が得られた。a)高学歴女性が結婚や出産・育児後に「仕事」をする場合、その形態は多様である。成人男性に多く見られるような「1つの機関に所属し、継続的に仕事をする」者がいる一方で、家庭教師や翻訳業など「アルバイト的な短期間の仕事を繰り返す」者もいる。b)後者は、従来考えられてきた労働条件の悪い、「補助的なパートタイム」といったイメージの仕事ではない。語学力や教職経験など、それまでの人生の中で身につけた専門的知識を活かした仕事である。c)これまで「主婦」とカテゴライズされてきた高学歴女性の中には、こうした特徴を持つ仕事への従事者が少なくない。d)このような高学歴女性特有の仕事への「就職」は、一般的なイメージの就職ルートを経由しているのではなく、家族・友人や母校教師、前段階で行っていた仕事の関係者などの知人ネットワークを通じて依頼や紹介が行われている。なお、本研究の成果については、平成11年度学会報告および論文発表を準備中である。

This study focuses on "high school housewives (high school housewives)" and explores the new functions of high school housewives. This year's work was carried out twice. The results of this research are in preparation for the Heisei 11 Annual Society Report and the paper presentation.
