位相力学系の中で記号力学系は基本的な例を豊富に含むクラスである。本研究の目的は、記号力学系の研究を作用素環的手法、特にC^*__-環的手法を用いて研究することであった。既にマルコフシフトの場合は、J.Cuntz-W.Kriegerにより、そのシフトに附随してC^*__-環が構成され、そのC^*__-環のK-理論の研究が、マルコフシフトの位相共役不変量の研究に大変有効であることが、示されていた(1980)。本研究では特にマルコフとは限らない一般のサブシフト(記号力学系)からC^*__-環を構成し、そのC^*__-環の特にK-理論を用いて、サブシフトの力学的性質を研究した。そのK-理論の計算公式を表した結果が論文「K-Theory for C^*__-algebras associated with subshifts」(Math.Scand 1998)として出版された。マルコフとは限らない記号力学系の例として文脈自由言語から構成されるものがあるが、そのサブシフトに附随してできるC^*__-環のK理論を研究した結果が論文「A simple C^*__-algebra arising from a certain subshift」(j.Operator Theoryに掲載予定)にまとめられた。またサブシフトの次元群との関係が「Dimension Groups for subshists and simpricity of the associated C^*__-algebras」にまとめられ日本数学会の学会誌に掲載予定である。

In the system of phase mechanics, the system of symbolic mechanics is not the basic example. The purpose of this study is to study the methods of action element rings and special C_*-rings. J. Cuntz-W.Krieger (1980). In this paper, we study the mechanical properties of C^*_-rings in general and C^*_-rings in special K-theory. The paper "K-Theory for C^*__-algebras associated with subshifts"(Math.Scand 1998) was published. A case study of symbolic mechanics system is presented in this paper,"A simple C^*_-algebra arising from a certain shift"(j. Operator Theory). The relationship between Dimension Groups for subcontractors and simplicity of the associated C^*__-algebras was published in the Journal of the Japanese Mathematical Society.
