今年度は企業を対象としたアンケート調査を中心に研究を進めた。調査対象とした企業は上場製造業企業(農水産業,建設業を含む)1,543社,有効回答数は279社(有効回答率18.1%)となった。なお,アンケート調査には協力いただけなかったが,環境報告書のみを郵送いただいた企業が数社存在している。本アンケート調査には,大きく次のような区分を設けた。1.企業経営全般に関わるマネジメント要因,2.環境マネジメント,3.環境デザイン,4.グリーン調達,である。環境対策と企業経営の関係,さらには企業変革との関連性を見るために,特に1.の項目を導入することとした。本アンケートが環境経営に関わることであることから,環境経営に積極的な企業ほど協力的であったことにまずもって注意をする必要がある。そのため,回答企業は環境問題をビジネスチャンスとして積極的にとらえようとする姿勢が強く,また実際に環境マネジメント等を実施して効果を上げている例も大半を占める結果となった。また,アンケート調査の結果によれば,環境マネジメント等の実施は,売上高の増大よりも,むしろコスト面での節約に効果があることが示されている。グリーン調達についてはかなりの企業で実施しているものの,それが取引先企業の再編にまでつながっている例はほとんどなく,既存の取引関係を重視しながらグループ全体で環境経営に取り組み,競争力につなげようとする日本企業の考え方が明確に現れている。環境経営は企業内部の変革,すなわち従業員のモラールや創造性に強く関係しているのであり,企業間関係の変化には現在のところ大きなインパクトはないと言える。回答内容の入力は既に終わっているが,業績データ等の入力が遅れていることから,アンケート結果の分析が終わっておらず,現時点では論文発表にまでは至っていない。しかし,来年度早々には発表可能となる予定である。また,配分予算額の関係から断念したヒアリング調査についてはその必要性を強く感じており,今後の継続課題として位置づけている。
