[1]Development and Evaluation of the Correlation Image Sensor1)The 200x200 pixels CIS was developed using 0.35um CMOS process provided by VDEC. The basic functions were fully confirmed. Plenty of data for improving the accuracy were obtained.[2]Development of Novel Imaging Technologies1)Normal Vector Imaging : Normal vector is converted to the intensity of the reflected light by using modulated tri-illumination. Then CIS demodulates its amplitude and phase in real-time and normal vector map is reconstructed. This system was also extended to the non-Lambertian object.2)Heterodyne Moire Realtime 3-D Imager : The space information is converted to the phase of the light intensity by using spatially phase-modulated illumination. Then CIS demodulates phase of the projected light in real-time. The new phase-unwrapping using time-domain constraint was also proposed.3)Heterodyne vibration measurement : The vibration pattern is converted into the intensity of the reflected light by using modulat … More ed structured light. Then CIS demodulates vibration amplitude and phase simultaneously with reference signals of the beat frequency.4)Polarimetric Imager : The polarization is converted into the intensity by using rotating polarizer in front of the CIS. Then CIS demodulates polarization information. The imaging ellipsometer was also proposed which utilizes two rotating polarizer putted in the incident path and outgoing path respectively.5)Real-time Optical Coherence Tomographic Imager : The very high resolution in depth was implemented by white light interference. The correlation image sensor makes it possible to visualize the envelope and phase of the white light interference without any scanning in depth.6)Involuntary eye-movement vision : The feature extraction method by vibrating the image sensor or the focusing lens was proposed. By choosing reference signal appropriately, desired features can be extracted in a single frame.7)Lock-in magneto-optical imager : Leakage flux inspection of the steel plate by using CIS was proposed. This system can observe the distribution of both amplitude and phase of AC magnetic field.[3]Image Processing and Understanding1)Face recognition using 3D information : Facial images captured by our normal vector imaging system are used to recognize each person.
