Each gynecological cancer conserves specific expression manners of angiogenic factors and of the angiogenic transcription factor ETS-1 to promote specific secondary spreading. The keys to creating new strategies of anti-angiogenic therapy are : (1) The overexpression of TP linked to ETS-1 in metastatic lymph nodes of uterine cervical cancers ; (2) The signal switching from VEGF to bFGF linked to ETS-1 with dedifferentiation of uterine endometrial cancers ; and (3) The overexpression of VEGF linked to ETS-1 in peritoneal dissemination of ovarian cancers. We are looking forward to proceeding with clinical trials of anti-angiogenic agents in advanced-stage patients and after curative resection for gynecological cancers.
