TITLE OF PROJECT : Estimation of phylogenetic relationship of Japanese population among East Eurasian using haplotype analysis

We so far published following five papers under this grant, during FY2005 and FY2006; analysis of Alu insertion polymorphism in East Asians (Ishibashi and Saitou, 2006, DNA Polymorphism, in Japanese), analysis of microsatellite DNA polymorphism in East Asians (Li and others, 2006, Human Genetics), discovery of cerumen gene (Yoshiura and others, 2006, Nature Genetics), and DNA polymorphism of MATP protein coding gene (Yuasa and others, 2006, Annals of Human Genetics). As for meeting presentations, Ishibashi Minaka, collaborator, gave talk on population study in East Asia about SNPs near cerumen gene at annual meeting of Anthropological Society of Nippon, at Kochi Institute of Technology Yamamoto Toshimichi, collaborator, gave talk on population study in East Asia about more than 300 microsatellite loci at annual meeting of Anthropological Society of Nippon, at Kochi Institute of Technology.
