本研究では,タブリーズ市において歴史的価値が高い建造物として有名なタブリーズ城とキャブード寺院を対象として, アナトリア断層を想定地震断層と仮定した耐震診断を行うとともに,耐震補強法について現地の研究協力者と調査研究を行った。地盤の弾性波探査,建造物と周辺地盤の常時微動計測を行ない,建造物と周辺地盤の動特性把握を試みた。その結果,タブリーズ城の方がキャブード寺院よりも建物の1次固有振動数が地盤の卓越振動数に近く,地震時に地盤と建造物が共振する可能性があることを明らかにした。また,わが国における耐震補強法を紹介し,実現可能な対策について議論した。
