本研究の目的は、農業における法人経営の位置づけについて、農業経営の企業形態の観点から、今日的な理論的枠組みを構築し、各種の企業形態の農業経営への適用可能性を実証的に検討することであった。研究期間内に、農業経営学における法人経営の理論的整理を行い、また、農業法人経営者へのアンケートを実施し、日本の農業にも起業家的な経営者が出現していることが示した。さらに農外からの参入企業や植物工場経営にも対象を広げ、企業形態、経営管理の面から実態調査を行った。
