22年度は、21年度に準備した調査項目に従い、すべての西タンザニア・バントゥ、諸語について調査を行う予定であったが、9月1日より独立行政法人国際協力機構での就職が決まったため、すべての言語について調査を行うことが不可能となった。8月の約1カ月間、現地調査を行い、これまでほとんど資料のなかったコノンゴ語の調査を行った。また、ベンデ語においても、焦点マーカーという新たな文法現象に着目し、資料の収集を行った。一方、8月16日には調査地において、調査対象である西タンザニア・バントゥ諸語を含む西タンザニア・カタヴィ州聖書翻訳プロジェクトを発足させたSIL-Internationalの会議に参加し、私の調査が及ばなかった少数言語についての言語状況の報告を受けた。また、SIL-International側から、今後、約10年間、私のベンデ語の記述文法、表記法を用いてベンデ語の聖書翻訳プロジェクトを始めたいとの申し入れがあり、それを承認した。今回の調査で編集を行ったテキストブック、民話集についても、SIL-Internationalより、タンザニア国での出版、販売の要請を受けた。8月末という時限があったため、本年度の研究は、できるだけ多くの資料を収集することに終始し、資料の整理・分析には至っていない。しかし、21、22年度合わせて、西タンザニア・バントゥ諸語のうち、ベンデ語・トングウェ語、ゴングウェ語、ピンブウェ語、コノンゴ語の調査を行い、残るヴィンザ語、ウガラ語、北フィパ語、ルングウェ語のうち、北フィパ語とルングウェ語については、SIL-Internationalなど別の調査者から資料を得られる可能性が開けた。今後は、これらの資料を整理・分析し、西タンザニア・バントゥ諸語全体を概観できるようにし、ベンデ語の焦点マーカーについて、研究発表および論文を執筆の予定である。
