Physician responses to omission, verbosity and digression in ambulance-to-hospital telephone conversations

本研究采用内容分析法对救护车到医院的沟通进行分析，发现到达前电话对话中存在三种问题模式：（a）遗漏负面但关键的信息，（B）过度使用医学术语导致的冗长，（c）由于错误传达会话含义而导致的离题。据查明，造成这些沟通问题的因素包括难以获得运输批准、缺乏培训和心理障碍。

The present study applied a content analytic method to ambulance-to-hospital communication and found three types of problematic patterns in pre-arrival telephone conversations :(a) omitted negative but critical information,(b) verbosity caused by excessive use of medical jargon and(c) digression due to miscommunicated conversational implicature. Factors including difficulties in obtaining approval for transport, lack of training and psychological barriers were identified as contributing to these communication problems.
