In order to make contribution to the fundamental theory for the design and management of high-performance communication networks, we have carried out the following research.・We have analyzed an MAP/G/1 queueing model which describes bursty traffic source under the condition that other types of traffic may interrupt the target traffic stream.・We have performed the queueing analysis of a queueing model with vacation under push-out buffering.・In order to predict the total performance of systems in a unified way, we have proposed the methodology for object-oriented simulator is one of the key components of asq system being developed by our research group.・We have proposed a mathematical model to evaluate the performance of Demand-Priority for efficient communication of multimedia traffic in LANs.・We have analyzed the performance of CSMA/CD-PS which is an efficient protocol in wireless communication networks supporting multimedia traffic.・We have developed the mathematical source description of bursty traffic of long range dependency and of self-simularity and confirmed its validity with respect to queueing behavior.・We have developed a simulation model to evaluate the jitter process from MPEG video sources after traversing multiple ATM switches and experimented pilot runs to obtain the quantitative evaluation.・In order to evaluate the performance of ATM switches in cell level, we have cosidered a queueing model with retry attemp under random order of service and analyzed the model to derive the performance measures.・We have proposed an approximation technique to evaluate the cell loss probability in a multiplexer with mutiple input streams under a cell smoothing based on leaky bucket mechanism.・We have proposed a hierarchical cell model for wireless mobile communication to diminish the call blocking probability and handoff blocking probablity and analyzed the perormance of the model.
