1.重症心身障害児・者における注意機能の評価 重症者14名を対象に、注意喚起機能を評価する呼名条件、注意維持機能を評価する視聴覚複合刺激呈示条件の2条件において、行動反応および心電図を記録した。2名により注視行動の有無を観察し、各時点の注視行動生起率を求め、さらに注視行動潜時と平均持続時間を算出した。その結果、対象者は以下の3群に分類された。A群(6名):喚起・維持良好群(潜時2秒未満、平均持続時間5秒以上)。B群(6名):喚起・維持可能群(潜時2秒以上、持続時間2.5〜5.0秒)。C群(2名):喚起困難群(生起率自体が極めて低い)。(上記については、日本特殊教育学会第35会大会にて発表予定)。これらの注視行動の生起様相は、心拍反応の評価結果(第34回報告)と対応した。2.重症心身障害児・者における援助条件下における期待反応の促進 能動的コミュニケーションの1つである「働きかけに対する期待」の促進方法を検討するために、単独条件と援助条件においてS1-S2刺激事態で上記同様の測定を行った。対象者は、A群とB群に属する7名とした。援助者は、各刺激に対する注意喚起やS1-S2間隔における注意維持、S2に対する共感を意図した触刺激を伴う言語的働きかけを行った。その結果、行動反応には快の情動表出の増加、心拍反応には減速反応の明瞭化が認められ、援助による促進効果が確認された。援助の効果を、反応促進の背景となる覚醒水準の上昇を含め、持続性心拍変動より多水準的に検討する必要がある。また、C群に属する者の援助方法について検討を行う必要がある。
