Micropharma involves the utilization of probiotic bacteria with specific enzymatic activity for the treatment of metabolic conditions such as hypercholesterolemia, hypertension, diabetes and metabolic syndrome. By utilizing a mechanistic based selection process, Micropharma can better select effective microorganisms for the treatment or prevention of metabolic diseases. The present research will explore the utility of specific bacterial species to improve antioxidant status.
