Mammalian cell cultures have become the dominant technology for the production of therapeutic recombinant proteins. Mammalian cell cultures are also increasingly used for the research and development of novel cellular therapies for regenerative medicine. This includes both tissue engineering and potential stem cell therapies. The development of reliable and economical means of mammalian cell processing should contribute to these health care technologies and improve the quality of human life.
