The Chipcare technology is a portable diagnostic platform enabling fast, accurate clinical tests in remote settings. The platform includes a compact diagnostic test reader and analysis system with interchangeable cartridges containing test reagents. Seneca is working on a project to enhance the shelf-life of certain components of the cartridges, which will allow ChipCare to develop new tests for underserved communities. Successful completion of this project will enable ChipCare to provide new diagnostic tests, allowing the company to continue to expand into new markets and grow. By expanding their product offering, ChipCare will create new jobs and establish ChipCare and Canada on the international stage as a provider of point of care tests for remote locations. In addition to internal team expansion, ChipCare anticipates increasing their prototyping and manufacturing efforts with Canadian subcontractors, resulting in induced and indirect economic impacts. Further, the tests ChipCare can offer will benefit remote communities in Canada, including northern and first nations communities, where laboratory testing services are difficult to access - this project will broaden the company's reach into these communities.**
