Until recently smart home solutions were generally perceived as either luxurious and/or expensive integrated offerings or disintegrated DIY tasks for early adopters/technology enthusiasts. This caused a significant delay in wide spread adoption and neither of the two scenarios met the needs of mainstream consumers. Seeing a significant market need, a number of large companies have entered the mass market, but multiple problems remain. Modules offered by the biggest vendors have compatibility issues, forcing customers into a vendor-lock position. In the self-install market, functionality and features remain quite limited, integration is not easy to achieve, there are data security risks and multiple apps are required. A significant need exists for combining affordable professional installation and integration services and a full range of advanced, reliable and secure automation functionalities with easy maintenance and continued expandability. Serenis Automation is a technology services company based in London, Ontario whose focus is on providing advanced building automation systems for residential and commercial sectors. What sets Serenis apart from competitors are their advanced analytics and automated action capabilities, which enable the true automated problem mitigation and integrateability of the various modules; focus on the health and safety for the property residents and buildings and best-in-class data security and control. Through the proposed project Serenis Automation aims to advance its automation solutions for residential and commercial sectors. This will enable Serenis to improve their control hub that is in development, providing integration of all their modules, and its ability to interact with third party products and their unique protocols and standards. Serenis' current client and prospective clients will be able to utilize previously purchased equipment and not be restricted through vendor lock scenarios. The Serenis control hub will provide customers with the flexibility of choice and not being restricted from using third party systems.
