文献と実作品を用いて漢から両晋時代頃までの儒教図像整理し、その多面的な機能について検討した。昨今、画像石や銅鏡といった漢代の画像資料に関しては、中国国内の各機関で収蔵されてきた作品が積極的に報告されるようになり、同時に個人コレクターの所蔵品の図録が相次いで刊行され、作品数そのものが飛躍的に増加している。そうした新出資料のなかには、しばしば従来は未見であった儒教図像と思しき図像例が認められることもあり、それらの新出資料と比較検討することで、旧来の作品のなかに埋もれていた儒教図像を特定することも、徐々に可能になってきた。そこで、まず「漢代画像石にみる儒教的モチーフ―墓域という空間におけるその機能」（水野裕史編『儒教思想と絵画―東アジアの勧戒画』勉誠出版、2022年7月）において墓域に表現された儒教の歴史故事の役割を検討した。続いて、「祖霊の安寧を願う画題―宏道院出土画像石にみる鉄剣鍛造の作業風景」（早稲田大学會津八一記念博物館編『古代中国の神話と祥瑞―武氏祠画像石拓本』展覧会図録、2022年12月）において個別具体的な図像解釈をおこない、その成果も合わせて、2023年3月に台湾中央研究院歴史語言研究所において「漢代銅鏡中歴史人物的多面作用」と題した口頭発表をおこなった。
