5ヵ年計画の初年度の研究として、本年度の前半はこれまでの調査で各年代の話者から収集していた既存のパラオ英語の談話データ用いて、発話の周辺部（発話のはじめと終わり）に見られる間主観化に関する分析を進め、途中段階であるものの、この研究成果を「Speaking “Palish”? Nativisation of a newly emerging postcolonial English variety in the Pacific.」として第12回オセアニア言語学国際会議（12th International Conference on Oceanic Linguistics 12 ; COOL 12）において報告するとともに、「Dream goal. If I have the brain ollei, I want to be a lawyer: Nativisation of Palauan English amongst adolescents.」としてカンタベリー大学（ニュージーランド）にて招聘講義を行った。オセアニア地域の専門家であるミリアム・メイヤホフ教授やジェニファー・ヘイ教授より得たフィードバックを参考にしつつ、さらに研究を深めている。一方、本年度の後半はベルン大学の共同研究者と共に、パラオ、サイパン、グアム、コスラエ、ナウル、キリバスの英語変種の特徴を統一した視座から再分析し、今後のミクロネシア英語変種間の比較研究に向けての土台を整備した。順次、各地点の英語変種における形態統語レベルの特徴に関する分析を進めるために連携をさらに強めていく予定である。さらに当該分野では必携の専門書の改訂版『New Cambridge History of the English Language』にこうした成果を掲載できるよう、現在、執筆を進めている。
