3ヵ年計画の最終年度の研究として、本年度はこれまでの調査・研究を総括しつつ、比較研究も織り交ぜながら、次なる研究に向けての土台を整備した。そもそも本研究は、20世紀前半にパラオで形成された「パラオ日本語」の特徴を方言接触の観点から掘り下げ、その後の言語消滅のプロセスを解明することを目指したものであり、本年度はこれまでの研究内容を補足・充実させるとともに、総括的かつ総合的な分析・研究を展開した。具体的には、(1)本年度前半は、昨年度の調査で得られたパラオからの引揚者の会話データを分析した上で、パラオの日本語流暢話者(fluent speaker)との比較研究を行いながら方言接触理論のひとつであるFounder Principleを再検証し、(2)本年度後半は、あらたに2つの話者タイプ(former speakerとrememberer)の会話データを分析し、fluent speakerとsemi-speakerとの比較研究を行いながら言語消滅過程に関する仮説であるRegression Hypothesisを重点的に検証した。(1)の研究成果は、来る7月の「16th Sociolinguistics Symposium」および「16th World Congress of Sociology」にて報告する予定であり、また(2)に関しては、すでに「2nd International Conference on First Language Attrition」にて報告した。なお、この3年間の研究成果の一端は、「2nd International Symposium on Language in Society and the Classroom : Preserving Heritage and Supporting Diversity(UNESCO Linguapax Project)」においても活用したところである。

The final year of the three-year plan includes research, comparative research, and preparation for the next year's survey. This research is aimed at clarifying the characteristics of Japanese language in the first half of the 20th century and the characteristics of dialect contact and language extinction in the later half of the 20th century. This year's research content is complementary and comprehensive. Analysis and research are carried out. Specifically,(1) The survey conducted in the first half of this year and last year found that Japanese speakers were fluent in Japanese.(fluent speaker): comparative study of dialect contact theory: (2) second half of the year: (3) second half of the year: (4) third half of the year: (5) fourth quarter: (6) fourth quarter: (7) fourth quarter: (8) fourth quarter: (9) fourth quarter: (A comparative study of conversational speech analysis, fluent speaker and semi-speaker (former speaker and remberer) and Regression Hypothesis. (1)The results of this research will be presented at the 16th Sociolinguistics Symposium and 16th World Congress of Sociology in July, 2011, and at the 2nd International Conference on First Language Attrition. One of the research results of the past three years is "2nd International Symposium on Language in Society and the Classroom : Preserving Heritage and Supporting Diversity(UNESCO Linguapax Project)".
