本研究では、従来の言語研究、言語処理において無視されがちであった感動詞、終助詞、応答詞、いい淀み、イントネーション等の要素を、「談話管理理論」の立場から分析した。談話管理理論では、発話を心的データベースへの操作指令と考え、ことに上記のような成分はデータベースに対する操作のモニター要素として働くと考える。今年度は、まず自然言語の音声対話コーパスとして、テレビの連続ドラマのビデオの聞き取りシナリオを作成した。これは、市販のシナリオを元に、聞き取りによって訂正を加えたものである。次に、このシナリオをデータ入力し、さらに加工して感動詞・終助詞・応答詞類のイントネーション付きデータベースを作成した。このデータベースその他を活用して、今年度は終助詞「ね」および感動詞「あのー」「ええと」を中心に研究を進めた(その成果の一端は、INTERNATIONAL SYMPOSIUM OF SPOKEN DIALOGUEにおいて公表した)。その結論は概ね以下の通りである。・対話の初期状態に共有知識と非共有知識を設定し、前者を増加し、後者を減少させるという対話者の心的モデルは、理論的にも現象的にも不適切である。その代わりに、未立証仮説を減少し、立証済み仮説を増加していくというモデルを提案し、日本語の終助詞「ね」がまさにその仮定のモニター標識として機能することを示した。・「あのー」と「ええと」はいずれもいい淀み的な間投詞で、分布が似ているが、前者が、発話の意味的な値が決定されている場合の言語的表現の検索をモニターし、後者は、さまざまな心的計算に関わる記憶領域の確保をモニターする標識であることを示した。
