Education for Information Processing with the Multi-Media Computer System and Network System

In most of university in Japan, network system is completely provided and stuff and students can always connect to persons in and out campus.The network system also supports the education in class by preparing many hardwares such as the multi-media. But, software for the supporting system is not always full. In this study, we develop the two new systems for the education in information processing as follows ; (1) Development of supporting system for electric teaching materials, (2) Construction of data base to use multi-media as teaching material. The former is utilized for the electric reports and new electric teaching materials such multi-media as sound, image and other electric materials under the computer operating system, "NEXTSTEP", which is a suitable system for combination between the network environment and multi-media environment. The system is a useful material for education in our university. The latter is development of the education system using the WWW (World Wide Web) browser for all subjects in faculty and graduate school. In near future, such system will be main part of the education system and teaching materials. The professor makes the textbook with HTML (Hyper Text Markup Language) before his lecture and his students can study by the textbook before the lecture. The new systems obtained from this study are utilized for effective education in our university.
