腫瘍細胞表面に高発現しているc-Metを標的として、そのリガンドであるHGFのc-Met結合部位(=NK1)に緑膿菌外毒素(Pseudomonas Exotoxin=PE) を結合させた新規の抗癌融合蛋白(=NK1-PE)の開発を行った。NK1-PEによる殺細胞効果はc-Metの発現が低い細胞株(MiaPaca-2、BxPc-3)である程度認められたが、IL4-PEなどと比べると1/100~1/1000の効果しかなかった。PEにより殺細胞効果を上げるというハイリスクな挑戦は結果としては今の所達成出来ていない。
