革新的造血幹細胞移植療法の開発の目的で、新たな造血器腫瘍関連抗原の同定と腫瘍特異的細胞傷害性T細胞(CTL)由来T細胞レセプター(TCR)遺伝子導入による免疫遺伝子治療の開発をおこなった。その結果、新たな白血病関連抗原として、CML66とAurora-Aを同定した。また、がん特異的CTL由来TCR遺伝子導入によって、HLA拘束性のがん特異性を獲得することが確認された。さらに、がん特異的TCR遺伝子導入造血幹細胞が、マウス体内でがん特異的成熟T細胞に分化増殖できることを確認しえたことから、今後、GVHDに頼らない新たな自己造血幹細胞移植療法の開発が可能であることが示された。
