本研究は、自然と人間の関係史を探る一環として、災害をめぐる地域社会の対応に焦点をあて、木曽三川流域の土石流災害を中心に検討を行ったものである。特に重点を置いたのは、可能な限り共有データを構築することであり、揖斐川下流域の断層谷周辺で起きる災害情報など、流域での土石流災害史料の収集・整理を行った。さらに、こうした史料の精査を通じて、災害を通してみた地域社会の特質、災害と地域の関係性の一端を明らかにした。

This study explores the relationship between nature and human beings as a whole, and discusses the relationship between natural disasters and human beings. Special emphasis on the construction of fault valley, the collection and arrangement of debris flow disaster historical data in the lower reaches of the Yangtze River In addition, the historical materials and disasters are closely related to the characteristics of regional society and the relationship between disasters and regions.
