2型糖尿病モデルマウスのKK/Taマウスの骨格筋にPPARδを発現させたマウスと、PPARδを発現していないマウスで体重および血糖に有意な差が認められなかった。また、肝臓でPPARsによって発現が調節されているmitoNEETの機能解析を行った。アデノウイルスベクターを使用して肝臓でのmitoNEETを過剰発現をさせると体重減少と血糖の低下が認められた。逆に、肝臓でのmitoNEETの発現を低下させると血糖が上昇した。
