The power of overseas Chinese people who take root on Asian soil is too impressive to be overlooked not only in economy and politics but in the filed of education. This study elucidated the actual condition and characteristics of (1) how overseas Chinese people have been playing the supporting role in the educational development of their countries of residence, (2) how they have been contributing the educational development in their fatherland, mainland China by means of docation, and (3) how mainland China as well as Taiwan have been conducting related policies and concrete supporting measures towards overseas Chinese.

扎根于亚洲大地的海外华人，无论在经济、政治上，还是在教育领域，都有着不可忽视的力量。本研究阐述了海外华人如何在侨居国教育发展中发挥支持作用，如何通过博士教育为祖国大陆教育发展做出贡献，（三）大陆和台湾地区对华侨华人的相关政策和具体扶持措施。
