The focus of this project will be to evaluate the Veris multi-sensor platform EC and pH for use in a precision agriculture lime application business. County Lime Ltd. provides custom lime and gypsum spreading, bagged lime, fertilizer spreading and rental of pull type lime spreaders. The County Lime team provides an excellent service with state-of-the-art equipment, string to perform the best spreading operations for their clients. The company is equipped with four floating vehicles all equipped with GPS guidance systems. They have two tandem-type truck spreaders and five pull-type lime spreaders for rent for the do-it-yourself grower clients. All their spreaders are also equipped with radar controls for more even spreading regardless of ground speed. With their precision spreading equipment, County Lime can provide their producer clients with the highest crop yield returns on their investment in lime products. Nonetheless, the Veris multi-sensor platform represents an opportunity for their business to integrate an emerging technology that could potentially reduce the soil sampling component of their operating costs while at the same time improving the precision of their services.
