研究目的 : 現在小学校の外国語活動はアクティビティ中心の授業を行っている。これらの活動は、アクティビティに主眼をおいているため、教師は、効率的、効果的に英語の単語やセンテンスなどを記憶できる学習方略を指導している。しかし、アクティビティに用いる簡単なセンテンスや単語でも、英語をおぼえることに苦痛を感じ、楽しく活動に参加できないと感じる児童が多数いる現状がある。本研究においては、小学校の外国語活動の時間において児童主体の英語語彙学習方略を蓄積・共有する学習方法を開発し、その効果を検証することを目的とした。研究方法 : 児童の学習方略の収集には、ミニホワイトボードを用いた。児童は、ミニホワイトボードにフレーズや単語の絵を書いたり、日本語の意味を書いたり、自分の耳に聞こえるカナを書いたり、文字の色を変えたり、アンダーライン引いたりして使用している。それらの書き込みは、児童が英語をおぼえるメモであり、単語やフレーズをおぼえる児童の学習方略と見て取れる。それら、ミニホワイトボードの画像や児童の音声をタブレット端末からサーバーに蓄積する。そして、そこから学習方略の振り返りを児童のナレーションつきの動画で作成し、動画を視聴しあうことで学習方略の交流を行った。研究成果 : 事前・事後のアンケートで「友だちの英語のおぼえ方は参考(さんこう)になる」と4件法により同項目で聞いたところt=-3.67(n=20)と1%で有意な差が出た。児童は動画のまとめを聞くことで、友だちがどのように勉強していたかを知ることができた。児童の自由記述からは「いろんな覚え方があって参考になった」等の記述が20人中19名あった。児童の動画では、「友だちと問題を出し合っておぼえると確かめられるし、楽しい」とのまとめを作った児童もおり、共に学ぶことの大切さや楽しさに気づけた児童もいた。
