本年度中に行うことができた研究の内容は次のとおりである。第一に、「日本政治学会名簿」等に基づき政治学研究者に関する基礎的データを収集し、データベース化をはかった。なおそうした作業を行うためにパソコンを購入した。第二に、国立の場合には主要大学の法学部、社会学部、私学の場合は政治学科のある法学部及び政治経済学部、政策科学部等政治学に関係する学部、学科を要する大学に「履修要項」「講義概要」の提供を求め、その大半から寄贈を受けた。第三に、いくつかの代表的な大学については直接訪問し、政治学教育の現状について、面接・インタビュー調査を行った。第四に、政治学関係の教科書を収集、購入した。以上の作業の中から最近高等教育における政治学教育が大きく変わりつつあることが改めて確認された。例えば、科目の設置の仕方に関して、伝統的な区分(理論、歴史、思想史(学史)、国際政治)にしたがうものは少なくなり、政策や国際関係を重視した科目配置が行われたりしてきている、あるいは多くの大学で「現代日本政治」に焦点を当てた科目、授業が重視されてきている、また全体として見た場合私学の方が教育改革に熱心である、といった特徴が発見されてきている。より詳しい検討については現在各自分担領域(石田=入門、理論系科目、高橋=政治史系科目、坂本・水口=行政・政策系科目、川端=国際政治系科目)について作業を進めており、今後研究会を重ねた上で、その成果は龍谷大学法学部紀要(『龍谷法学』)に掲載する予定である。
