A research of the actual conditions of the Jewish refugee society which existed in Shanghai at the time of World War II

本研究试图通过对各种资料的分析，对1938-1949年中国上海犹太难民社会的建设和活动进行考察。在纳粹德国的控制下，中欧约有1.8万名犹太难民逃了出来。在《上海犹太难民子女的学校教育》一文中，考察了该社区所提供的基础教育。犹太人身份的确立（犹太教和希伯来语）和英语学习（禁止在学校使用德语）在对他们孩子的教育中得到了特别认真的对待。通过“资料调查：上海虹口区“外国人名单”中的犹太难民（1944年8月）”，对12309名中欧犹太难民的国籍、性别、年龄、住址、职业进行了核对，并对上海犹太难民协会的组织进行了说明。他们的居住范围被限制在上海东北部的虹口东部和杨基浦西部约2平方公里的范围内（一般称为上海犹太人聚居区）。《上海犹太难民音乐家》一文中论述了犹太难民音乐家在上海的活动。他们加入了当时被称为东方第一的上海市立交响乐团，并指导中国学生。当他们的演出再次把人民团结为一个文化共同体时，他们的伟大贡献就实现了。《妇女在上海犹太难民社会中的地位》一文在犹太难民所发行的报纸上就“酒吧里的妇女”展开了争论，并通过贫困和道德问题考察了妇女在移民生存意志和社区或家庭内部团结的形成中所起的作用。

This research tried to investigate the construction and activities of the Jewish refugee society which existed in Shanghai China in 1938-1949 through the analysis of various materials. About 18,000 Jewish refugees from Central Europe under the control of Nazi Germany escaped.to ShanghaiAs for the treatise "The school education to the children of the Jewish refugees in Shanghai", the elementary education which this community gave was examined. It was the establishment of the identity as a Jew (Judaism and Hebrew) and English learning (German use at school was prohibited) that was specially taken seriously in the education of their children.By "A resource research : the Jewish refugees in "The foreigner list" of the Honkou district in Shanghai (August 1944)", of 12,309 Jewish refugees from Central Europe their nationality, sex, age, address, occupation were checked, and the organization of Shanghai Jewish refugee society was explained. Their residence was restricted to the area (Shanghai Jewish ghetto to say commonly) of about 2 km^2 that extended over the eastern part of Honkou and the western part of Yangjippo in the northeastern part of ShanghaiThe treatise "The Jewish refugee musicians in Shanghai" argued the activities of the musicians among the Jewish refugees in Shanghai. They joined the Shanghai Municipal Orchestra which was said to be No.1 in the Orient at that time and also coached Chinese students. Their great contribution was fulfilled when their performances unified the people as a cultural community again.The treatise "The place of women in the Jewish refugee society in Shanghai" took up "the women in the bars" dispute on the newspaper which the Jewish refugees issued, and examined the part which women played for the will that the emigrants needed to live and the formation of solidality inside the community or the family through a matter of poverty and morals.
