研究代表者の織田は、それぞれ保型形式の数論的研究と、数論的ホモトピー論の研究に関してこれまでに引き続いて研究を行い、次のような成果を得た。a)宮崎琢也(学振PDF)との2次実シンプレクティク群上のWhittaker関数の研究と、早田孝博(神戸大学・大学院)とのSU(2,2)上のWhittaker関数の研究を共著論文にまとめて投稿した。これにより、F2型の(最も合流した)合流超幾何関数をLie群とは独立して問題を定式t出来ることになる。b)分担者の小林俊行とは、高次元対称空間上のある種のモジュラー記号の「Hodge」成分の消滅に関する共著論文を完成させ、現在投稿中である。証明の手法は新しく、ユニタリー表現論の深い結果を用い興味深いものと信じている。c)一般化された実球関数の研究は、上記の(a)の様な階数2の群に関しては引き続き成果を拡大しつつある。三重大学の古関春隆氏、帝京大学の日名龍夫氏との共同研究も一定の成果が得られつつある。一つはSU(2,2)の表現の行列係数に関わるものであり、もう一つはSO(2,n)の正則離散系列表現の一般化Whittaker模型に関わるものである。これらは、ここ1、2年中に論文にまとめられるであろう。分担者の大島は、ある種の表現とAomoto-Gelfandの超幾何関数の関係の研究を進展させると共に、Bien、小林とともに、一般化された球関数の理論の基礎をなす、表現の制限の重複度有限性の判定条件の研究を進めた。分担者の森田茂之は、写像類群の研究、とくにTorelli部分群の研究を進展させた。分担者の寺そまは、斉藤毅との代数多様体のcohomologyの行列式の研究を完成させた。さらに興味深い応用を追求した。
