In Coeliac disease the immune system reacts to ingested wheat protein and attacks the tissue of the small intestine. The wheat protein activates certain immune cells and this initiates a destructive inflammation. In collaboration with the Australian-based company Nexpep, this project aims to develop therapeutics against Coeliac disease.
