本年度は方言調査と研究を行った。方言調査は珠洲市と松江市という2地点で行った。瀬戸内海周辺の方言も調査する予定であったが、音節構造と「音節量」に関する問題に焦点を当てることにしたため、瀬戸内海周辺の方言の代わりに既に方言調査を行ったことのある出雲地方の松江方言をもう一度調査することにした。松江方言については、動詞の活用形と重音節で始まる名詞を中心にデータを収集した。珠洲方言については、名詞と動詞のアクセントの類似と相違、アクセント型の中和、そして「式」に関する問題を解決するためにデータを収集した。現在も継続してこのデータを分析している。また、参考文献と方言調査で収集したデータを基に、類型論・理論的な研究も続けた。「狭母音拍」とそれ以外の「特殊拍」の音韻的弱さが分節音の内部構造の観点から説明できるということが明らかとなった。さらに、英語と朝鮮語における「弱母音」と「非弱母音」の違いも日本語諸方言と同様に分節音内の音韻要素（または弁別素性）が主要部か依存部に指定されているかという違いに還元できることを示した。類型論的な研究は、母音構造のみならず、韻律構造についても行った。具体的には、日本語諸方言と朝鮮語諸方言にみられるアクセントとフット構造の関係に関する比較研究を行った。その結果、両言語の諸方言において強弱格と弱強格という二種類のフットが存在する証拠を得た。これは非強勢アクセント言語において強勢アクセント言語に比べてフット構造が固定されていないことを示唆している。現在、本研究の成果を総括的にまとめ、日本語諸方言にみられるトーンと母音の相互作用を類型論・理論的に考察する論文を執筆中である。
