Transonic Scisense is a medical device company focused on micro-sensor technology used to monitor cardio dynamics in animals as small as mice. Transonic Scisense is creating a new product line (implantable catheter) which requires an absolute pressure sensor of very small size. Transonic Scisense's intended production process for such a product is based on purchasing the existing sensors on the market and building the catheter around it. Beside cost factor, this limits the functionality of the catheter and needs excessive engineering research and development to build the micro-sensor catheter. It also limits the company's capability for future innovation.
