Blyth Group is developing CitiIQ, which is a system that measures the health and wellbeing of a city. It uses 115 raw data points to drive the measurement algorithm (already in use) and the scores are provided quarterly to client cities using a cloud based dashboard/interface. However, currently the company acquires city data for a single client one city at a time. The project with Durham College, will develop an AI empowered engine to enable CitiIQ to automatically acquire the data points. This will enable the company constantly acquire the 115 required data points for the 4,000 cities in the world with a population of 100,000 or more. This engine will expand the growth and momentum of the company, without using human labour for data acquisition. Upon successful completion, the company will have build a data repository, identified global data sources, established automated data acquisition and cleaning routines all of which will be used for the CitiIQ algorithm. This AI tool will significantly increase the scale of their business, will help Blyth Group to serve more cities and clients, and hence will significantly raise the company revenues.
