Technological advancements have changed the way consumers buy services and products. There is a significant shift from physical tickets and at-home printing to a fully digitized mobile ticketing experience. Seat Giant Inc., an Ontario company, sells event tickets to every major sporting event and concert in Canada. They are the only Canadian company in this business that sells tickets to major sporting events and concerts. They have already impacted the Canadian market by offering the most competitive pricing to buy tickets for family events and concerts. They outsource various portions of their processes. They currently have a website with minimal functionalities and integrations with third party APIs. In this project, Durham College will develop a new database and API server to host their back-end and integrate third parties into the newly created API server. The website will be recreated which will be mobile compatible and integrate new API and database. In addition to this DC will be implementing AI, more specifically Recommender Systems, to recommend events and tickets based on user purchase and interest habits. This will give them a competitive advantage by offering user-centric, personalized suggestions for a larger revenue stream.
