The global kombucha industry is growing at a rapid pace with the emergence of a hard kombucha segment. Shelf-stable probiotics, added adaptogens, botanical infusions, and cold-press juice blends all add to hard kombucha's natural appeal and claim on holistic wellness. The emergence of this new segment is a prime target for new product development. Black River Juice Inc. is in the process of developing and launching a new sub-category of fermented alcoholic beverage that would combine the traditional kombucha process with that of craft beer. This project will equip the company with increased competitive advantage, resulting in increased market share through alternative product selection and access to a new market.
