Brain monitoring is becoming ever more essential in the increasing incidence and prevalence of neurologicaldisorders, rising awareness of neurodegenerative diseases, growth in the number of traumatic brain injuries,and increasing applications of brain monitoring in clinical trials. Interaxon, a Canadian-based company hasdeveloped Muse, which is a brain-sensing wearable EEG technology, which allows the users to get real-timeand post-session metrics on their brain activity while sleeping, and their mindfulness, and meditation practicethrough a mobile application. Interaxon seeks to create a neuroscience research application to explore visuallyevoked ERP (Event Related Potential) brain responses in virtual reality integrated into its existing application.The current project will consider different VR content and interactions as potential event stimuli for measuringcognitive performance via brain evoked potentials. Success of this project will demonstrate a capability thatthe MuseVR solution can be used within VR applications to measure cognitive performance in a naturalgaming environment. Once confirmed, this capability sets the foundation for the development of product /applications for digital therapeutics related to brain health. Interaxon anticipates releasing the MuseVRhardware offering in Q4 2021, with an updated SDK that includes accurate stimulus time synchronizationcapabilities. This will enable them to enter a new market, grow their client base and hence grow their revenues.
