Titan1 Studios and Sheridan College's Screen Industries Research and Training Centre (SIRT) propose to collaborate on a game-engine workflow for the optimization of photorealistic environments in immersive Extended Reality (XR) interactive applications targeted for deployment on mobile devices. This applied research and development (R&D) project will (1) assist Titan1 Studios with establishing workflow solutions for creating engaging photo-real immersive content applications for mobile platforms and (2) prototype and test the implementation of new rendering techniques within commercial projects to achieve optimal frame rates and rendering performance. This R&D is critical to Titan1 Studio's ability to develop and commercialize new and improved products within an increasingly competitive marketplace. In the broader context of XR development, the proposed workflow can be applied to a variety of sectors, including Education, Health Care (including Mental Health), Entertainment, Industrial Safety, and Corporate Training, helping to make such content increasingly realistic and accessible. This project aligns with SIRT's goals of supporting leading-edge Canadian screen industry R&D and of remaining at the forefront of emerging technology application and development.
