Zhu の有限性条件をみたす頂点作用素代数の表現のつくるアーベル圏がArtin かつNoethern であり、また既約対象が有限個であることを示した。さらに、対応する共形場理論を使ってこのアーベル圏がbraided tensor 圏の構造を持つことを示した。典型的な例として、頂点作用素W(p) について、その表現のつくるアーベル圏が一の巾根における制限されたs12(C)型の量子群の表現のつくるアーベル圏と同値であることを示した。
