平成11年(1999年)9月12日〜16日の5日間,仙台国際センターで開催される第8回化石クニダリア・海綿国際会議の講演会の日程とその内容及び会議前後に行う野外巡検について検討を行った。その具体的内容は以下の通りである。1.会議・開催についての1st Circularを印刷し,会員に郵送した.2.基調講演は加藤誠北大名誉教授に依頼することとした.3.「21世紀にむけての化石クリダリア・海綿研究の展望」をテーマとする特別シンポジウムを行うこととした.コンビナ-として現会長ロドリゲス教授に打診することとした.講演者は10名(6名が30分,4名が15分の講演を行う)で,総合討論を30分とした.4.半日のセッションテーマとして,(1)環太平洋の化石サンゴ礁,(2)化石クニダリア・海綿からみた礁の進化,(3)クニダリアの種分化,(4)サンゴ・海綿に記録された石気候,(5)サンゴ群集の地史的変遷,(6)サンゴ.海綿の微細構造,が候補としてあげられ一つひとつ議論したが,今後外国の研究者とも連絡をとりながら決定することとした.なお新たなセッションテーマを募り,2nd Circular及びニュースレターで全会員に周知させることとした.5.わが国の大学に収蔵されているクニダリア・海綿のタイプ標本をもちよって検鐘しながら討論を行うワークショップを開催することとした.6.わが国の巡検候補地を,(1)沖縄本島,(2)秋吉,(3)北上山地に決定し,それぞれの日程,見学露頭,費用等について検討した.なお各コースの見学地の下見を行った.

The National University of China is in a position to urge the opening of the international economic and commercial cooperation program. 6. The country will tour the waiting area, (1) visit the waiting place, (2) Qiu Ji, (3) go north to the mountain area to make a decision, make a schedule, learn to show, use and so on.
