With the rising concerns about COVID-19 particles dispersion in air ducts in commercial buildings such asmalls and offices for instance, more efficient filtration systems are emerging. The development of a hybridcomposite system of adsorbent materials that leverages the synergistic effect of both GAC,thermo-mechanically exfoliated graphene, activated alumina and organic binders such as methyl-cellulosecould be beneficial to drastically improve the filtration performances. Moreover, as graphene is anelectro-conductive material, a very low-voltage impulse can be dispersed into the graphene filter and eliminatethe virus and bacteria trapped in it. The COVID-19 situation has shown the danger, to some extent, of openworking space and it may be difficult for some companies to reopen such large space unless they have anefficient air filtration system which is tailored to neutralise and kill the viruses transmitted through the ductventilation. Both on an economical and social perspective, the development of new efficient air filters wouldprovide tools to address these concerns.
