コミュニティ・スクールに指定された全国の小中学校に対するアンケート調査及びコミュニティ・スクールを指定する市町村教育委員会に対するアンケート調査を実施し、コミュニティ・スクールの組織と運営の現状を把握するとともに、コミュニティ・スクール導入の成果と課題を明らかにした。また、先進事例校等を対象とする聞き取り調査等を行い、今後の我が国におけるコミュニティ・スクールの普及の条件等を探った。
